Download the current issue of Mused Bella Online Review to read my short story "I Love You, Nikita" and my non-fiction piece "The Yellow Shoes." I am really excited and proud to be able to share my stories on this platform and hope it will only be one of many stories to be published. Read on to find out what it is about. "I Love You, Nikita" is one of my recently written stories which was inspired by the horrific decision by the American government to separate children from their parents at the border and house them in camps - with their future uncertain and the prospect of never seeing their parents again. Only a truly abominable parliament would agree to such a procedure and it sickened me to the stomach. As I love writing stories from different and also challenging perspectives, I figured writing it from the perspective of a child would be interesting. Funnily enough, many people I read it to thought it was about aliens as the "green men" took them to a weird place - I never meant to clarify it, as I guess for a child an abduction my an American solider is comparably traumatic to being kidnapped by aliens on their spaceship. You can read "I Love You, Nikita" by clicking here. "The Yellow Shoes" is a non-fiction piece about how I and my fiance met. Incidentally, he wore yellow shoes when we first met at a party and they were almost the reason we could have not ended up together, as I thought they were simply hideous (my man still insists they were the best shoes he's ever owned - I dumped them a few years ago and made him buy leather shoes).
As we are getting married soon and I will post more about our weddings plans, you might be interested to check out our very first encounter, so click here to read "The Yellow Shoes" on Mused Bella Review.
