This year my Halloween was truly unspectacular - and yet probably one of the best I have had so far. Last weekend, we went to Tirol to celebrate our engagement (yeah) and my parents hosted a party in their house. I must re-state once more how eternally grateful I am to be blessed with parents like mine - parents who don't hesitate to celebrate my life achievements as much as they can and who are happy for me no matter what. Our party was a good taste of what I hope our wedding is going to be, as I was embraced by people I love who celebrated my and Jake's love for another in a cosy and relaxed ambience. Very early on I vowed to myself I would not become one of the bridezillas who torture everyone with their nitty-gritty endeavours of perfection (and I only slid into such a state shortly after the engagement, but thankfully I am out of it now again). But I am digressing as usual. After our lovely engagement party, we checked into the Wöscherhof 4-star superior hotel in Zillertal where my dad works as a masseuse, yoga instructor and a million other tiny jobs (he literally has worked himself up to the gofer). I have previously already worked with them and they are a beautiful hotel filled with the kindest people you could wish for a vacation destination, I can only highly recommend it. The hotel is nestled amidst Uderns, a rural village surrounded by alpine mountains. From the outdoor swimming pool, you have fantastic views of the mountainous nature around and the food is simply divine. Knowing Jake and I were engaged, they prepared our cosy room accordingly with rose petals on the bed and the duvets in heart-shape - truly amazing! They had also prepared a bottle of bubbly for us to clink glasses with. And then our non-scary Halloween commenced! I love going to spas - even though I think limiting your time is crucial. A few days are just the right dose of relaxation before it gets boring. For two days we would only lie around, reading, swimming, snuggling and using the spa facilities, interspersed with scrumptious meals three times a day. It was a perfect break from work and the wedding location frenzy (however, we have now managed to find something and will tie the knot in April 2019). I am currently reading Cogheart book 2 and have just finished the Uncommoners 2 whose review will soon be up in the Book Corner and it was pure bliss lying next to the pool, getting sucked into magical worlds and enjoying Halloween from a very different perspective this year. It may not have been spooky, but definitely a real treat.
