I am happy to introduce this new recipe page with a one of my favourite recipes. I love chocolate and I think it harmonises very well with orange and other citrus fruit, so I took my favourite brownie batter as my base and added some nice oranges. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did!

List of ingredients (if you double them, you'll have enough for a regular batch of brownies):
125g butter
125g baking chocolate (white chocolate if you want to make blondies)
3 eggs
175g sugar
100g flour (plain)
Fresh oranges (1-2) or orange sugar
Some additional baking chocolate for the icing

First, preheat the oven to 180 degrees and grease a tart tin with butter (not the sides of the tin, if you want it to become even).

Put the chocolate and butter into a saucepan and heat it on a medium level (it should really melt slowly, otherwise it gets clumpy).
While the chocolate and butter melt, crack the eggs into a mixing bowl and add the sugar.

Whisk until smoothly blended and it has a creamy texture.

Add the chocolate/butter mixture into the bowl and blend the two mixtures with another, using an electric mixer or a whisk (if you want super-strong arms).
When everything is smoothly blended, cut 1 orange into pieces and add the pieces into the mixture (you may also add two oranges, depending on their taste and your personal preferences, of course; however, bear in mind you will need another half one at least for decoration).

If you do not have oranges, you may also use orange sugar and blend it in when you also add the normal sugar.

When everything is smoothly blended again, add the flour and fold in gently until there are no traces of flour left. You should now have a thick, creamy mixture (and don't forget to taste).

Pour the mixture into the prepared tin, spread out evenly and bake for about 15 minutes in the oven (times may vary depending on your oven, to ensure it's ready, stick a knife in to check if it's been thoroughly baked).

When your tart is ready, let it cool out and simmer the baking chocolate in a double boiler and spread it onto the cooled cake. You may cover your whole cake or just sprinkle it on like I did, it's up to you.

When the chocolate icing has dried, decorate your cake with fresh oranges and enjooooooooy...
