Alright, I know I am a day late with this, but I had a good reason. Yesterday, my man and I went to Munich to the zoo and we had a great time! The apes and monkeys nearly all had babies and they were SO incredibly cute, but there is going to be a proper update with pics and videos, etc. in a few days.

So, to the actual content of this blog post. Day 8 has arrived and today's question is:
Who is the most underrated character?

If I am completely honest, I have to say Ronald Weasley. Obviously, he is one of the major characters but still he doesn't get enough credit for his loyalty, his friendship, his humour and his wits.
I love Mrs Weasley generally, but must say I was sometimes heartbroken how indifferent she seemed towards Ron in many ways. He really didn't have it simple wedged in between the loud twins and the precious only daughter.
In a way, I think Ron has always been a key figure to the universe. Both Harry and Hermione come from a Muggle environment and don't know the first thing about the wizarding world when they come to Hogwarts. Imagine Harry had teamed up with someone like Draco Malfoy (obviously, he wouldn't have because his heart is kind, but still). Anyway, Ron made sure Harry got the right end of the whole mudblood-conversation and ensured Harry was introduced to a magical family who was open-minded, kind and muggle-accepting (probably a bit more than accepting in Mr Weasley's case).
He is permanently pushed over by everyone and Harry is the hero, Hermione the brainiac and Ron is often shoved into the "tag-along" corner where he doesn't belong. I am just really glad Jo Rowling went with giving him Hermione, as I think they make a perfect couple and Harry really can't have it all, right...
Of course, he had his darker moments, leaving Harry two times during the series, but he only proves how human he is and how much he suffers from being permanently over-looked by his parents and in the end he always returns, swallowing his own pride and proving he is a loyal, reliable friend anyone would love to have. GO, RON!
